Academic Libraries

The only eBook system for librarians that recognizes the challenges you face.

The time-honored role of libraries as repositories of the world's knowledge is as meaningful today as it has ever been. In spite of the opinions of some that technology is rendering ours a self-service world, or that knowledge is attainable via bits and bytes of data, just the opposite is true when it comes to organizing, accessing, and distributing quality content. Clearly, as technologies for accessing content multiply, as time becomes an even more precious commodity, the guidance of those devoted to practicing the information sciences is growing in value.

Bringing eBooks to this environment is not as simple as merely taking published content, converting it to electronic form and making it available to users, fact by fact or byte by byte. To preserve the role of the library system requires a more considered approach. For that reason, we've chosen to bring the value of the library profession to eBooks even as we bring the value of eBooks to libraries.

The result is the most comprehensive, most widely adopted, most proven approach to eBook implementation and use in academic libraries. One that supports the mission of libraries. One that works simply and functionally in ways libraries find easy to adopt. And, because current, relevant, quality content is as important to libraries as it is to those who provide it, one that also encompasses publishers' needs for bringing both print and electronic content to colleges and universities in a rapidly changing electronic age.
